Bene, finalmente andiamo nella strada giusta, ovvero l’integrazione completa del WPA in Gnome, proprio come avviene oggi per il WEP.
Se è davvero quello che spero, questo è un passo fondamentale nella gestione del wireless su linux. Per essere veramente alla portata di tutti, la configurazione dovrebbe essere davvero “plug&play“…
Spero solo non continuino a fare “pastrocchi” col Network Manager, non è certo quella l’integrazione che intendo… e credo che anche Carlos si sia accorto che qualcosa da fare c’è:
D: Is there something that is really missing in our infrastructure or platform that would help you?
R: maybe a NetworkManager that is friendly to already configured interfaces (not reporting them to apps as disconnected and realizing when interfaces become managed by other mediums come to mind), it would make NM integration much more lovely.D: Do you have any GNOME-wide goals suggestions for the next releases?
R: Unifying all network applets, we’ve got 3 now! (modem, network monitor, NM) and it would be so great to put some quick network-admin locations interface there
